Days and weekends tailored to you

As well as a programme of activities I provide guiding and courses tailored to your interests, availability and fitness (for individuals or small groups):

  • A range of guided day walks or trail runs (between 4 and 7 hours) accessible from Glasgow and the central belt in my favourite areas including Glencoe, the Isle of Arran, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, as well as my local hills, the Campsie Fells and the Kilpatricks.
  • I also plan and guide multi day trips (with or without wild camping) across Scotland to allow to immerse yourself deeper in wild places.
  • Day long or weekend courses teaching navigation skills or wild camping skills.

Please get in touch to find out more or to discuss what you have in mind.

Gaby planned and led me on the perfect weekend hike in the Cairngorms, tailored specially to my request. She was the best company, kept us safe in challenging weather conditions and I learned loads from her knowledge and experience. Can’t recommend Skylark guiding enough!

Here are some suggestions of areas to explore:

Glencoe

An area rich with walks, whether big peaks, smaller but no less spectacular ones (which are suitable as a first Munro), or low level routes into steep-sided glens and woodlands.

The Isle of Arran:

A short hop from the mainland, the mountains of Arran provide a spectacular array of jagged granite peaks, exciting hill walking, and a sense of complete escape. Choose from glens or peaks (or a bit of both).

The Trossachs and Loch Lomond

As well as the famous Ben Lomond (using the popular route or the quieter one), this area offers a variety of hills and mountains, woodland trails, and lochside routes with fantastic views of the Highlands.

The Campsie Fells and the Kilpatricks

If you’re after gentle and rolling hills within easy reach of Glasgow, these ranges are the perfect escape.  Routes vary from 3 to 5 hours and can include waterfalls, rocky outcrops, and some excellent view points.

Knoydart

A wild peninsula only accessible by boat or by foot, with mountains, ancient woodland and incredible wildlife. Perfect for overnight trips.

Cairngorms

It’s easy to get away from it all in the Cairngorms. High plateaus, mountain passes, inaccessible lochs, and unique wildlife make these mountains very special.

Please get in touch to discuss your specific interests and ambitions.
