I’ve taken part in lots of adventures Gaby organised & most recently joined a trail run and sauna event. This was a perfect mix of activity and relaxation and overall an amazing experience! Gaby is such a calm, kind and well organised guide – highly recommend her!

Gaby is phenomenal. We went on a 4-day, 3 night hike in the Cairngorms. She was a calm leader, taking weather and danger seriously but letting us all determine our own comfort levels. She arranged all rental gear and provided food. All was perfect. She was great with our teenagers who looked up to her. She taught them orienteering but also patience and kindness.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for today! I absolutely loved it! I know I was no expert by the end(I’m a slow learner!) but I learned loads and has made me realise that map reading isn’t as mysterious as it seems! The pace you pitched it at was perfect and you really do have the patience of a saint! I’ve already booked for the Level 2 course in August. I cannot wait!

I have been on a few of Gaby’s no rush hikes and really enjoyed them. As someone who is not usually the fittest member of the group, Gaby was very considerate to my slower walking ability and having to take regular breaks. Gaby is very knowledgeable and passionate about the outdoors and this definitely shows during the walks. Gaby is incredibly kind and creates a welcoming and inclusive environment. I look forward to more of Gaby’s walks later this year!

We had a fantastic day with Gaby in Glencoe. From our initial booking of the guided walk, Gaby reassured us as to the route and provided clear fitness and kit requirements. She checked in with us a couple of days beforehand highlighting the poor weather forecast and giving extra advice to prepare us for the wintry conditions (in June!). On the day she was brilliant company, so friendly and encouraging. We would thoroughly recommend a day in the hills with Skylark guiding and hope to join Gaby on other walks soon.

I wanted to go up a mountain for the first time in many years but didn’t feel I had the confidence or knowledge to do this myself so I opted to go on a “no rush” guided walk. Gaby was attentive right from the beginning responding quickly and thoroughly to my questions prior to the walk regarding clothing, equipment and weather concerns. I am profoundly hearing impaired which can make things tricky but I felt very supported from the offset.
I learned a lot; about safety on the hills, what you should take with you, map reading/navigation, mountain plants and a book recommendation which I plan to take up (Nan Shepherd’s ‘The Living Mountain’). Gaby always attentive and engaging with her answers, sharing her deep knowledge of mountain walking openly with obvious love and enthusiasm.

Glasgow is a great base to go for runs in the Scottish national parks and on the islands. And Gaby is the ideal guide to accompany you! She was my running guide for two days in the Trossachs and on Arran Island, and thanks to her, I got the most out of it. Each day, she suggested several options to choose from, all perfectly tailored to my interests and running level, being very flexible. Such beautiful routes, such lovely days.
